Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi is a Chennai-based Indian woman who was born September 1st 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents when she was just 2 years old. To escape the stigma of divorce in India, her mother moved to the United States. Lakshmi lived for two years with her grandparents from Chennai before making the move to the United States. Both of her parents divorced later, and she now has a younger half brother and half sister from her father. Lakshmi is a woman who has a last name with the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity, grew up first in New York and then in Los Angeles with her mother and stepfather. She would visit India for a few months each year to visit her relatives. Padma Lakshmi became interested in acting in 1999. The first film she acted in was "Figlio di Sandokan", a movie about the life of an Italian pirate. Next, she played an important role in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers) which is a drama about 17th century pirates. In 2001, she was in a comedy role supporting a singer in discos in  the film 'Glitter.' Padma is the mother of a daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell with Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was conceived on 20 February 2010. Teddy Forstmann, who was the former CEO and chairman of IMG and is also her partner. Lakshmi is currently in a relationship with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. They share a daughter called Krishna. Lakshmi has since disclosed that the father of the child was Dell, although she initially kept his identity a secret. The girl said to her daughter, "Everything is better when she's there." "Anything that happens from the start of the day till the time of closing. I don’t have much interest in any other then her.
