Magda Apanowicz

Magda Apanowicz (NOH-vitch; Polish: born November 8, 1985) is a Canadian actor from Canada. She is well-known for her role on ABC Family's Kyle XY as Andy Jensen and Syfy's Caprica science fiction drama series in the role of Lacy Rand. Emily Hartwell, a science fiction actress, was born Maya Hartwell. Recently, she was seen as Sandy in the Netflix thriller series You. Apanowicz is from Polish descent and spent a year in Poland in the 9th grade. She lived with her uncle in Poland, and attended Jelenia Gola School. She later studied at Vancouver Film School. When her brother introduced her to the Pulp Fiction, she became attracted to acting. She began her acting career in 2002 when she appeared in Jeremiah and John Doe. In 2007-2009 she played Andy Jensen in Kyle XY. In 2008 she starred in the Hallmark Channel original movie Every Second Counts.In 2009, Apanowicz was cast as Lacy Rand, a series regular, in the television drama Caprica along with Eric Stoltz and Alessandra Torresani. The actress later appeared on Hellcats. In 2012, she guest-starred in Jane Espenson's second season of her web series of romantic comedy, Husbands.In 2013, Apanowicz appeared as Emily in the show Continuum Also, she appeared in the Eli Roth horror film The Green Inferno as Samantha. Although it was filmed in 2012, The Green Inferno was globally made available in 2015.In 2017, Apanowicz was cast as Angela in the science fiction thriller film Volition. The film was released in 2020. In 2019, Apanowicz played the character of Sandy in the second season of the Netflix thriller You.
