Milena Govich

Milena Govich, a writer as well as actor and musician has directed numerous episodes on TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) among others. She also served as the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018) and is currently directing two pilots in the process of development. Milena was one of eight women selected by AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. She also participated in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. The short film she made and the TV series proof-of-concept , Unspeakable, starring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober has saw its World Premiere at SXSW and was awarded the Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) is screened across the nation and won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest and the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has appeared in close to 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her debut on CBS. Then she became the first and only female detective on Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010)(CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) [ABC Family] as well as Lori Stevens (MTV Drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has appeared in many films such as Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) starring alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) with the lead opposite Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). Milena is an Norman, Oklahoma native. After graduating valedictorian from her high school She went on to earn the double major in vocal performance and premed with minors in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma. After graduation, she capitalized on her classical ballet training to appear on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production of 'Cabaret' in Studio 54.
