Don Rickles Biography

 Don Rickles, an American comedian, author and actor, was born in New York. He was a respected and popular entertainer. His quick wit combined with humorous remarks and genuine love for his audience created an irresistible mix. He brought laughter, joy and entertainment to many. His ability to make insults seem humorous and not offensive made him a regular on celebrity roast circuits. His insults, which were hurtful and savage, attracted a lot of attention. Yet, the recipient would still laugh. He began his career in comedy performing prepared jokes. But, he realized that audiences liked his spontaneous insults over the more conventional material. He was loved by many among them was Frank Sinatra. In addition to appearing in numerous films and TV shows He also released two comedy albums. He was honored with many awards, including a 'Lifetime Achievement' award at the 'The Comedy Awards.' His brand of sarcasm earned him many nicknames, such as 'The Merchant of Venom, The Insultan, Mr. Don Rickles only had small TV roles following his graduation. To supplement his income, Rickles began performing stand-up comedy. He was eventually referred to as an 'insult comedian'. He played a key role in Clint Eastwood's 1970 film that became a hit Kelly's Heroes (1970). He was a regular in TV comedies such as  The Dean Martin Roasts' (1972), and The Don Rickles Show,' (1973). Barbara Sklar married Don Rickles on the 14th of March in 1965. They had two children: Mindy and Larry. Their son passed away on December 31, 2011. Bob Newhart was his best friend. They often traveled together as two couples. They have been on numerous shows together such as  Newhart.' Don Rickles died from kidney failure on the 6th of April, 2017, in his residence in Beverly Hills, California.
