Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was a student and worked in the best New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and eating from an early age. After earning an English and Communications degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. I couldn't seem to get enough enjoyment from it. Following graduation, Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a year, taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell is a well-known ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids who have challenges. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels throughout the United States as part of her mentorship role.
